WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
Manufacturing engineer with expertise in assembly, knowledgeable of lean production systems Design for Manufacturing tools and preferably with an interest in automation and smart factory technologies.
Main job tasks:
- Analyze, define, develop and optimize new manufacturing processes, tools and equipment from investment estimation phase through installation and try-out in the production plant.
- Prepare cycle-time studies, labor analysis (walk-time, man/machine elements) to ensure optimization of cost, investment and throughput time.
- Work with Engineering during new product development and launch; define preliminary manufacturing process and following design reviews.
- Run DFM analysis and provide manufacturing input on all new product designs.
- Perform process feasibility analysis (P-FMEA, stack-up tolerances, digital mock-up, simulations).
- Analyze and benchmark industrial technology and processes innovation, scouting new applications that are more efficient and promote automation and digitalization of manufacturing processes.
- Define and optimize material line feeding process accordingly to material classification and support in Logistic area layout.
- Qualification and Requirements:
- Education
- Bachelor’s/Master degree in Mechanical Engineering, Logistic Engineering or similar field, or an equivalent combination of education, expertise and experience.
- Experience
- 3-5 years working in evolved Manufacturing environments (preference for Assembly and/or Welding) in structured / multinational Companies.
- Personal / Technical skills
- Ability to read and analyze technical drawings.
- Use of 3D drawing computer-based suites and virtual simulation tools.
- Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T), Design and Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis.
- Proficiency in process documentation (Cycle description, Visual operation instruction, etc.).
- Knowledge of problem solving techniques and their application to equipment troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of the most popular Office applications.
- Understanding of material flow throughout the process (within the Plant ). Including line-side display, rack applications logistic areas design and implementation, logistic equipment knowledge.
- Line feeding application knowledge based on material classification and paths optimization
- Ability to work in team, in a multi-national and multicultural environment.
- Basic knowledge of automation and system integration principles and curious for new technologies implementation.
- Working location: Turin
- Travel: Available to travel up to 70% of the time in Italy and abroad (mainly Europe).
- Language: English fluent. Another EU language preferred.
