WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

This is a technical and managerial position. The candidate will be accountable to design the architecture and to select components of High Voltage power distribution embedded in CNHI vehicles, including High Voltages elements such as connectors, HV power distribution units (PDU) boxes, HV cable sizing, contactors, fuses, insulation monitoring, etc., including their interfaces to LV systems.

The role will be also accountable for the HV Operational Safety so to design final solutions securing all safety related design solutions to cancel the possibility of electrical shock to operators, bystanders and rescuers, in full respect of all the best practice and applicable relevant standards, including Functional Safety compliance.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

•   Accountable for the design and release of high voltage power distribution for the complete HV network of electric vehicles, including high voltage PASD components, HV power distribution, connectors type, HV cable sizing, HV fusing as well as interfaces to LV systems.

•   Support definition and design of High Voltage Interlock and electrical Safety mechanisms (e.g. disconnect systems).

•   Accountable for the design grounding requirements for all EVs and HV systems, including equipotential ground and distribution. Define vehicle-level requirements and performance targets of the HV system for the complete vehicle.

•   Assessment of EE HV architectures (from the Vehicle to the components, HW and SW), with attention to interaction between electronic functionalities, system performances, diagnostics protocols and validation of the safety related requirements securing compliance with standards and company guidelines

•   Become the refence for Electrification Integration to identify applicable standards and EU regulations helping definition of internal CNHI HV safety guidelines.

•   Responsible for discussing with components or sub-assembly (e.g. PDUs) suppliers to ensure the on-time, cost and quality delivery. For relevant components/sub-assembly, be accountable for Component Product Card definition and specifications according to CNHi Standards. Collaborate with Platform, Purchasing and Manufacturing for strategic buy and make decisions

•   Secure effective application of D-FMEA, HARA and other methodologies for the analysis and assessment of failure modes and risks.

•   Secure design and release to CNHI Engineering Central of all the schematic diagrams and drawings (e.g. harnesses, grounding, PDU design, components drawings) in a timely manner and in full respect of internal quality standard.

•   Be accountable to consider and direct design choices on components under his/her responsibility, to secure compliance with all the electrical safety best practices and relevant international standard. 

•   Support the development and definition of the High Voltage Architecture and vehicle Systems Requirements and Specifications. Analyze and evaluate HV safety related requirements as result of system design measures in close collaboration with corresponding domains.

•   Responsible for correct and inclusive definition of all the DV/PV test plan, both at component and vehicle level.

•   Make decisions in the areas of design within the specific perimeter of responsibility and project risk trade-offs that impact program cost or delivery without sacrifice of quality expectations.

YOUR KEY COMPETENCES AND QUALIFICATIONS:

•   Bachelor’s Degree in Electronic, Electrical, Mechatronics, Automation, or another relevant discipline 

•   6+ years of experience in designing, developing, and producing cutting-edge high voltage HV electrification vehicles with focus on power distribution units (main and aux), HV fusing and interfaces to LV systems.

•   Proven knowledge of automotive and off-road machinery Safety Standard for electric and hybrid vehicles (eg. ISO 23316, ISO 16230, ISO-DIS 23285, ECE-R100), including basic knowledge of Functional Safety processes and ISO standards (eg. ISO26262, ISO25119, ISO15998)

•   Effective knowledge and proven experiences of all FMEA principles (design/component/systems/process FMEA) and 

•   Experience on managing multiple projects across several locations

•   Track record of improving quality and on time delivery across the engineering organization

•   Experience successfully launching new products on time and successfully leading investments to expand engineering capabilities in the region

•   Experience establishing and working in partnerships with global suppliers

•   Solid track record of delivering results

•   Proven ability to understand business partner organization’s goals and objectives

•   Fluent English

Preferred Qualifications: 

•   Understanding of Electrical/Electronic Vehicle Architectures for hybrid vehicles (Automotive, Agricultural or Construction Equipment)

•   Knowledge on high voltage components functionalities and HW specifications (eg. Inverters, DC/DC, Batteries, BMS, etc.)

•   Knowledge in components diagnostics 

•   Basic knowledge in CAN bus network management (Standard SAE J1939 / CAN 2.0B / Standard SAE J1939DA, ISO 11783-ISOBUS) and LIN communication protocol

•   Basic knowledge of V-Model development process, phases, and gates

•   Knowledge on Vehicle Homologation requirements and electro-mechanical systems

•   Knowledge of DOORS or Polarion

•   Experience working in multi-location teams

•   Ability to work transversally with different teams and interface easily with other engineering disciplines
