Primary function: Develop Agricultural Tractors Fluid Power Hydraulic and Electrohydraulic Components & Systems to meet vehicle, cost, quality and manufacturing requirements. Generates and develops new product ideas/concepts for advanced development of hydraulic components and systems consistent with platform or component product line objectives and provide support for current development.

Essential responsibilities:

• Design and development of hydraulic and mechanical components and systems, including electro-hydraulic systems for mobile applications
• Generates new design concepts for assigned projects which will improve performance, value proposition to the customer or increases number of features
• Pursues actively new and innovative designs with potential for invention disclosure
• Encourages new and innovative design concepts, inventions, patents and opportunities for improvement
• Maximizes standardization and continuous improvements across components and systems
• Incorporates engineering standards, tools, methodologies and CNH Industrial global product development processes into daily work tasks
• Develops plans to achieve cost and reliability targets of assigned components and systems
• Creates engineering and performance specifications for new components or systems and works closely with suppliers during the development and validation phase
• Develops common processes & procedures and promotes usage across vehicle platforms
• Provides technical expertise and liaison with other functions within CNH Industrial
• Communicates with cross functional groups within platform, product engineering, product validation, quality and manufacturing
• Liaise with suppliers to tune/develop component designs for use in CNH Industrial applications
• Contributes to the overall profitability of new and existing products
• Contributes to the improvement of overall warranty reduction activities
• Contributes to cost reduction methods related to component design on new and existing products
• Contributes to CNH design standards and methodologies
• Utilizes CAD, Matlab and other softwares to develop designs and layouts
• Ensures completion of engineering activities within project objectives and improves overall design and team efficiency
• Provides recommendations and updates to direct manager and/or component product line team
• Contribute and support direct manager to create and improve a team working approach and environment

Language requirements:

• English, Italian

 

Qualifications pre-requisites: 

• Degree in mechanical engineering, preferably with min. of 2 years of work experience on hydraulic system or component design, preferably for mobile off-highway applications
• Mandatory participation to University Fluid Power course
• Further Training or Hydraulic master are a plus.
• Demonstrated understanding of hydraulic component and system design, including electro-hydraulic systems.
• Predisposition to problem solving

 

Profile requirements (desired):

• Self-starter with independent thinking, able to work under minimal supervision
• knowledge 3D CAD-software (Creo 2.0 preferred), simulation software (Matlab/Simulink, AmeSim, Automation Studio), BoM systems and standard MS-office software
