Driveline Senior Engineer

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

He/she will be part of the core expert team in the Driveline Component Product Line and collaborate actively with chief engineer to implement the design of new mechanical solutions. He/she will drive new concept design, recommends and uses appropriate Engineering techniques and optimum standardized technical solutions in the development of new products. He/she will apply all best practices (DFMEA, Design Review, Design to cost…) to ensure robust and accurate design of new solutions. He/she is also expected to be substantial contributor within problem solving process.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

•   Create studies and layouts of new transmissions, with accurate details. Study of major modifications of existing design to comply with new specifications

•   Drawing of the detailed design of transmission components working with internal colleagues and outsourced engineering.

•   Identifies, researches and solves functional, mechanical and design problems to improve product performance and reliability, and ensure timely product release.

•   Capacity to develop in autonomy all the needed calculations and verifications to support the technical decision and the related discussion.

•   Regular interface with manufacturing to support industrial process. Frequent technical discussions with our suppliers, to setup the right solution into the manufacturing process coherent with the drawings and the design intention.

•   Capacity to read and evaluate quality reports about mechanical components and knowledge of the main mechanical standards (ISO/AGMA) are also requirements.

When new product are developed and/or produced at external supplier facility:

•   Communicate to platform on Driveline project status, risks and issues on time. 

•   Be the first technical reference for platform and chief engineer to collect product specification and provide first feasibility feedback.

•   Lead and filter vehicle product profiles/requirements.

•   Write application sheets to detail driveline technical specification according to product profile requested by platform.

•   Coordinate within CNH and supplier all the resources contributing to the project.

•   Lead candidate supplier to develop robust planning and execution. 

•   Ensure the scheduling, coordination and progress of the project. 

YOUR KEY COMPETENCES AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Required Qualifications:

•   A degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.

•   Fluent English, written and oral.

•   Knowledge of 2D and 3D CAD systems and Engineering BOM systems.

•   Experience on manufacturing processes of transmission components.

•   Experience with DFMEA process, Design Review and Problem Solving methods.

•   Proved experience with project management.

Preferred Qualifications:

•   Technical background with off-road vehicles usage and applications.

•   5/7 years experience with mechanical design of driveline and axles.

•   Attitude to work in a multi cultural team.

•   Attitude to frequently travel, mainly abroad, for short term periods (2-5 days/ each trip).
