New products bring new challenges – in the way we source and buy raw materials, in the way we engineer and manufacture, and in our supply chain planning. Your ‘day to day’ As PRODUCTION PLANNER you will plan the production of final products and/or semi-products for both commercial and testing purpose. You will also allocate planned production volumes to particular machine types and single production lines pursuant to the established planning principles and market requirements, considering all the limitations so as to achieve major goals of the Operations Department. This means to ensure the availability of the demanded products on time, in optimum quantity, produced at optimum costs and in compliance with PMI quality procedures. Your Responsibilities • PLANNING AND ANALYSES • Plans production volumes in compliance with the market demand as for the production volumes and product availability for shipment and in the case of planning semi-products so as to ensure the final product production flow and timely implementation of export orders • Ensures efficient utilization of production / logistic resources (among others, workforce, machine park, materials or warehousing space) by optimization of the production plan • Ensures updating of the production plans to be used for production materials and tobacco orders and to plan all the activities in the plant that have a direct impact on the production (e.g. modifications and installations of machines and appliances, renovations and changes in work schedules) • Analyzes and proposes adaptations in the machine park for future needs • Prepares analyses and scenarios for forecast events, based on production volumes enabling decisions that affect the production results (work schedule, number of production employees, etc.) • Plans semi-products production so as to ensure compliance with the approved of assumptions of stock policy, updated periodically • Provides up to date and reliable data on the plant production capacity to PMI in order to ensure proper distribution of production volumes enabling the implementation of the plant goals in medium-term (12 months) and long-term (3 years for the budget needs) time frames • Maintains communication with PMI Supply Chain EU Region in order to provide up to date information on the current situation of the plant and the level of production plans implementation, among others, in periodical meetings (Supply Chain Meetings) • Ensures constant and efficient information flow among departments involved in the production process in periodical meetings (presentations of short-term and long-term plans) and proper distribution of production plans • Participates in tasks/projects that affect the plant production capacity (e.g. testing and industrialization of a new production processes, installation of new machines and kits, start-up of new products) • SYSTEMS • Ensures development of production planning applications (among others, E2PR, ROSE, SAP) in the applied IT systems and indicates directions of changes by setting requirements as for the system functionality, innovation testing and introducing changes • COMPLIANCE WITH REGULATIONS AND EHSS • Abiding by all the requirements for the position held as for EHSS and quality standards and procedures observed in PMI and MTB • CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT • Initiates and actively supports intra- and interdepartmental projects implemented within the Continuous Improvement model, efficiently takes advantage of expertise and qualifications gained in the Production Planner position • Implementing the requirement of continuous improvement, he/she gets involved in optimization initiatives and rationalization processes within planning and production within his/her scope of responsibilities • Participates in the implementation of strategic changes in processes, cultural and organizational changes in the company Who we’re looking for University degree in Engineering or Economics More than 1 year of professional experience in Manufacturing Environment, preferably in production or production planning Strong Analytical and Planning attitude Experience with MS Office Package and SAP knowledge of Lean Manufacturing tools, planning procedures, interdependencies and logistic flows related to the production planning Team work, action oriented, analytical thinking, priority setting, problem solving, listening, customer orientation and communication skills Fluent in English and Italian both written and spoken.
