Your ‘day to day’ As Manager Business Unit, you will be part of our Manufacturing department for Philip Morris Manufacturing & Technology Bologna SpA and will be reporting to the Manager Primary. The position will be based in Crespellano, BO. A key responsibility will be to manage, plan, organize and control the production and/or maintenance processes and activities of the assigned BU in order to ensure the production plan is carried out in accordance with set objectives and measurements (cost, quality, productivity safety and compliance). In your role, you will be responsible to identify and implement mid/long term process and organizational improvements in the assigned area. Contributes to the development of department wide strategies and coordinates planning and implementation of activities required to achieve goals, whilst maintaining compliance with company and statutory/regulatory requirements. Finally, the Manager Business Unit will build effective networks relationships within own unit and with key stakeholders across the business in order to achieve optimal business outcomes. Specific responsibilities include: • Takes overall responsibility of developing and deployment of assigned Unit's strategy ensuring integrity and adherence to applicable QMS procedures and laws, innovation and business systems, processes and controls. • Ensure that all activities in the assigned BU are carried out in Compliance with the applicable QMS, policies and laws. Assure the due support in research, define and implement corrective/preventives actions in order to maintain and improve quality standards, gain customer satisfaction and to prevent non-conformities. Emphasize importance of quality and build awareness to achieve a culture of continuous quality improvement. • Ensure production schedules, objectives and KPI targets are met. Ensure that business unit activities are in a consistent manner correctly recorded across information systems and the required reports are available at hand for any type of analysis. Perform the production review/approval of filled Batch Records by ensuring the accuracy and completeness of data. Review/approve required procedures, work instructions and others Quality or Production supporting documents escalated to his level. • Manages Unit's budget and takes appropriate actions in order to optimize costs and to remain within agreed parameters. Prepares and submits manufacturing costs plans for the assigned unit (including budget) to senior management and Finance. Recruits, develops, motivates and manages the team/department performance, and ensures that team members have the competencies, capabilities and tools to consistently deliver on individual, team and strategic objectives. Ensures effective succession planning within the team. Support Open+ program deployment with Leadership and Lean Thinking. • Continuously seeks to develop and improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the assigned BU and beyond. Leads the quality improvement programs within the area of expertise with a focus on quality excellence while ensuring best possible execution in term of cost, time and risks. Ensures that priorities are fostering improvements that fully support ongoing global initiatives. • Promote and apply all rules concerning PMI Quality, environment, health and safety. Report all situations requiring actions in order to minimize or eliminate risks exposure to personnel, company assets and societal impacts and be in line with or ahead of any applicable Law requirements and Company standards. Requirements & Skills: • University degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Management or equivalent education • 5-8 years’ experience in production area within FMCG, pharmaceutical or similar industry of which at least 3 years in a managerial role. • Well-developed IT skills and experience with MS Office Package. • Fluent in English written and spoken and Italian is an asset.
