Your ‘day to day’: As Engineer Quality Laboratory you will be part of our Product Organization and will be reporting to the Manager Laboratory Governance. The position will be based in Philip Morris Manufacturing & Technology Bologna S.p.A (Bologna – Italy). In your role, you will lead the Laboratory Asset Standardization across PMI Testing Laboratories (conventional (CC) and Reduced Risk Products (RRPs)) by providing relevant information and guidance. You will also contribute to the continuous improvement of any process and/or procedure in relation to equipment management. A key responsibility will be to act as Subject Matter Expert on behalf of the Laboratory Governance and Global Footprint team to support on the risk assessment of any technical initiative identified for a potential deployment in the PMI testing laboratories (at line and/or at lab). Finally, you will also facilitate the collaboration with technical Subject Matter Experts across the organization. Your Responsibilities: • Lead the asset standarization accross PMI Testing Laboratories and support local asset engineer with the day to day administration and processing of new or existing assets. Ensure a proper development and execution of the asset management procedures and processes. Contribute to the improvement and maintenance of the instrument equipment corporate quality documents under his/her responsibility • Lead the introduction of new devices (for monitoring and/or other testing purposes) in PMI RRP laboratories as well as the improvement of related processes, procedures, specific tools and/or software applications to ensure full compliance with quality system and in an ISO 17025 environment • Gather information on any new technical initiatives for existing technologies in CC and/or RRP laboratories and lead the risk assessment process with relevant Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and stakeholders to facilitate the introduction and consequent implementation of such initiatives in PMI testing laboratories. Ensure relevant plans for upgrades and retrofit of existing technologies exist in the different PMI testing laboratories • Facilitate the understanding of technologies and methods used by key PMI suppliers, coordinate with key stakeholders (Supplier Quality, PMI testing laboratories…) and provide recommendations on relevant action plan to mitigate any potential bias and/or risk of misalignement between supplier and PMI. Liaise with other SMEs within Laboratory Governance and Global Footprint to organize relevant cross-check and/or ring trials between suppliers and PMI testing laboratories • Coordinate with key stakeholders (Testing Technology Development, PMI testing laboratories, method development…) any initiative or development of new at-line technology and/or method in order to facilitate the subsequent implementation • Design, enhance and manage team / reporting dashboards belonging to Laboratory Governance and Global Footprint team for regular publications and updates to key stakeholders, including senior management • Carry out all of the activities ensuring that PMI Compliance Policies, standards, and laws relating to these activities are fully respected, integrated and understood by stakeholders, and implement adequate processes to ensure the protection of information of a confidential nature Who we’re looking for: • University degree in Life Sciences, Engineering, Quality or equivalent • Minimum 5 to 8 years’overall experience in laboratories and/or manufacturing areas • Experience in ISO 9001 and ISO 17025 working environment • Experience in project management in technical areas • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with emphasis on technical writing • Very Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook) • Excellent project management, negotiation and influencing skills • Complex Problem Solving and risk assessment processes • Effective communicator, action driven, results oriented and able to deal with ambiguity • Able to show managerial courage • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
